The endangered marsupial

Tasmanian Devil “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”  -Ronald Reagan  This is a tasmanian devil, sometimes misunderstood, a cheeky little creature. They are the largest carnivorous marsupial (what is a marsupial?). A marsupial is the one who carries the little one in their pouch, (but isn’t that only kangaroos and koalas?) no, there are 330 species of marsupials (wow! 330!?).  They were found in the mainland of Australia but about 3000 years ago they went extinct in mainland Australia because they were hunted by dingoes.  As there are no dingoes in Tasmania, the devils are the island's state top predator. They have one of the most powerful bite.  The mom gives birth to around 20-30 joeys which are the size of a rice grain and they all try to climb up to the mother’s pouch but only a few make it till the pouch, they stay in the pouch for around 3 months and then they a...

The Vanishing Roar

Lion  “A simple act of kindness and compassion towards a single animal may not mean anything to all creatures, but will mean everything to one.”  ― Paul Oxton “Lions”- the word that comes to my mind when I see them is WOW! They are truly beautiful and proud creatures. Oh wait, now I get why a group of lions is called  a pride, huh! It's because of their unconditioned power and fearlessness, they fear no other animal and that's why they are called the king of the jungle. Although the lion is known as “the king of the jungle,” lions do not live in jungles. They live only in grasslands and plains. Lions...

Dolphins “Dolphins are sophisticated, self-aware, highly intelligent beings with individual personalities, autonomy and an inner life. They are vulnerable to tremendous suffering and psychological trauma.”  – Dr. Lori Marino Most of us think that a dolphin is a very common aquatic animal we know of, but that is indeed not true. Dolphins are one of the most unique creatures with some unknown qualities. On an average, a dolphin can live upto fifty years, depending upon the type of species. There are more than 40 species of dolphins, and each one stands out in one way or the other. The bottlenose dolphin is the most common species. The young ones are called calves/cow and the mother dolphin takes care of her loved one for upto 6 years. Here's a scenario, imagi...
